Centretown United contributes to the support of several missionaries serving the Ottawa community. Here are a few of the missionaries we help support.
The Centretown Emergency Food Centre, located at 507 Bank Street in the basement of Centretown United Church, serves clients four days a week. Our full-time Coordinator directs the operation of the Food Centre with the help of dedicated teams of volunteers who stock shelves and package food in the mornings and others who serve clients in the afternoon. The Food Centre’s mandate is to serve those in need in the Centretown area bordered by Wellington Street on the north, Billings Bridge to the south, Lyon Street to the west and Main Street, including Lees Avenue, to the east.

Centre 507 is an adult drop-in centre that is open to all who seek a safe, friendly and supportive environment. Serving Ottawa’s disadvantaged since 1983, the centre is at 507 Bank Street near the corner of Argyle. Many Centre 507 participants face a combination of economic and social disadvantages. Homelessness, unstable housing, mental illness, addiction, health concerns, poverty, employment and loneliness are among their challenges. We help our participants address these challenges.
